Mana Cruising Club was founded in 1959 in a boatshed on the Paremata inlet, by a group of dedicated boaties. These original members recognised the need for a base to maintain and repair their vessels as well as a venue for
socialising. Minutes of the second meeting of the committee record, “But we must
remember that we are building not only for ourselves but also future generations - and our long term planning
must be on a sufficient scale to cater for the undoubted growth of the club”.

Mana crusing club built its first clubrooms in 1962/63 and significantly expanded them in 2004 to the current facilities alongside the Marina.

Marina at nightThe foresight of the original club members has seen the club develop over the last 60 years to its current state where we have a modern travel lift, extensive hardstanding facilities, and trailer boat launching ramp and parking as well as a clubhouse that contains a fully equipped restaurant, wardroom and function room.

Today, Mana Cruising Club has arguably the best facilities of any boating club in New Zealand. We celebrate the commitment, passion and planning that has brought the club to its present situation and hope that the next 60 years will present more opportunities for furthering the Club's goal of developing a friendly, family based club, while fostering safe boating.
